Project Idea

This project is inspired by the video How to Survive in the Middle Ages by Art For Introvert. My goal was to create an engaging long-read experience that combines modern design and 3D graphics with medieval imagery.

I began by analyzing the text from the video and organizing it into a clear content hierarchy. From this, I sketched a layout and developed the concept of a chessboard where the narrative would flow, integrating design with storytelling.

Concept

The project envisions an intergalactic tour set in medieval times, with an alien as the protagonist.

I created a 3D-rendered alien character to contrast with the medieval setting. This fusion of futuristic and historical elements adds a fresh and intriguing dynamic to the concept.

Identity Elements

The typography blends modern and medieval styles. For the main text, I used the standard Inter font to ensure readability.

Fonts

The interface features neutral colors, emphasizing the visuals. The layout is divided into two sections: the right panel for text and the left panel resembling a chessboard to guide the story’s progression.

Colors and grid

The alien character was created and rendered in Spline, with various poses and states.

Long-Read

Adapting the long-read for mobile was challenging, especially resizing images. I created modified versions for mobile and added a scrolling feature for larger images to maintain their quality and proportions.
